Margarita Rosa

Margarita Rosa brings to ALI a career of dedicated public and social sector executive leadership. Among her most notable roles, she served for 20 years as executive director of Grand Street Settlement, an historic comprehensive human service agency in Manhattan, and as the commissioner of the New York State Division of Human Rights at the height of the AIDS crisis. Margarita has also led the Caribbean Cultural Center African Diaspora Institute, a social justice and cultural preservation organization, and the National Center for Law and Economic Justice, which advances the cause of economic justice for low-income communities across the U.S. She has held numerous civic appointments in New York City and multiple prominent board roles, including service as a trustee of her alma mater, Princeton University.
