Carlos Danel

Carlos Danel brings to ALI leadership experience in social entrepreneurship and microfinance. He is co-founder and serves as chairman of the board on Gentera, leading the organization from its origins as a nonprofit in southeast Mexico, to a group of publicly traded financial companies in Latin America providing banking services for low income clients. Gentera currently serves 4.5 million clients with over $2 billion in portfolio and employs more than 25,000 staff. Carlos also serves on the boards of Fundación Compartamos, Mexicanos Primero, Consejo Mexicano de Negocios, and chairs Observatorio Nacional Ciudadano, a think-tank on security and justice in Mexico.
