Thulisile Madonsela

Prior to ALI, Thulisile Madonsela was the Public Protector of South Africa, and was the first woman to hold this position. Ms. Madonsela is a human rights lawyer and authority on equality; she helped South Africa’s Constitutional Assembly draft the country’s constitution, and co-developed the policy framework that formed the basis of the establishment of her country’s Ministry for Women, Children and Persons with Disability.
